Call for Papers - The Research of Resilience from Person to Society

The Revista de Cercetare si Interventie Sociala invites original paper submissions for the issue (volume 48/2015) on THE RESEARCH OF RESILIENCE FROM PERSON TO SOCIETY.

The early observations of crucial significance to understanding the construct of resilience were on children experiencing chronic adversity. Afterwards, the study of resilience focused also on adults and old individuals, included longitudinal follow-ups and was tackled in a life-span approach.

In the same time, situations in which resilience was studied have become increasingly diversified, belonging both to the registers of traumatic events and of chronic adversity. If in the initial studies the focus was on individual resilience and on personal characteristics that facilitate it, very quickly it became clear that many factors related to the family and to the environment in general, are involved in the process underlying the development of resilience. In parallel, it became obvious that families, communities and societies which live with chronic adversity or experience traumatic events can be resilient. Have thus been established the fields of family, community and more recently, societal resilience.

The rapid expansion of the use of the concept of resilience is not without generating many questions. Is this extension risky? Does it contribute to the trivialization, to the dilution of the concept of resilience? Or does it testify of its development, its wealth, or heuristic value? What are the consequences for the theory of resilience? What are the implications for practice?

All submissions will be double blind peer reviewed. For guidelines on manuscript preparation and submission, please visit the journal website (http://www.rcis.ro/for-authors.html).
